I have spent 5 months volunteering with KCIU, and it has been a wonderfully insightful and inspiring experience.
Working with both the central office and the various projects that KCIU has initiated, I have been able to engage with different people and work opportunities on a weekly basis.
For example, I would spend a week in the central office designing a new program to be introduced to the community, and the next week I would be helping staff in the medical clinics in servicing their patients.
The staff is tireless and hardworking, constantly looking to self-improve and ensure the best delivery of services to the community that they serve. Being from another country and culture, we have been able to foster a reciprocal
relationship where ideas and skills are traded freely. This means that both the organisation and I are able to learn and grow.
There is plenty of different things to get involved with here, and volunteers will always be encouraged to implement any ideas or initiatives that they wish to implement.
